Dispossession - The Great Social Housing Swindle

Post Image

I was first made aware of Dispossession in January 2017 on a trip to London for some film work and meetings of my own. I was staying with a friend in East London and was met on the phone by a familiar Irish voice guiding me from the tube station to the flat near Manor House.

It was Kiran Acharya - an Associate Producer on the documentary. A top fella. It was to my delight when I clicked on the website of Dispossession to see all the wonderful quotes in parallel with the film. A massive well done.

There was something, sadly, that hauntingly chimed with me though when I saw the artwork for The Great Social Housing Swindle. Something that utterly distracted me for the entire of yesterday - the utterly tragic scenes in Grenfell Tower, West London. Coincidently the timing of the general release of the Paul Sng directed film may have just been, sadly, perfect.

"Perhaps The Most Important British Film Since I, Daniel Blake." - The Big Issue

"The Housing Crisis Is One Of Our Nations Biggest Scandals And This Film Shows Us It's Deliberate. A Must See Independent Film." - Michael Sheen
